Heya, all! There's some new stuff going on with Intercomm this year, most of which was covered at the rules/guidelines/information post, but I'm going to buzz through the highlights again, as well as providing a brief explanation of Intercomm for anyone who wasn't around last year, with the basics in bold for the tl;dr set. :D

About Intercomm 2011 )

RAS Info )

If you have any questions, feel free to ask as a comment to this post (comments are not screened), as a PM to me, or at the Intercomm help post (comments are screened). :)

Have fun, and good luck!!

There's only one day left to vote for the final round of Intercomm-- polls close at 11:59pm GMT tomorrow!!

If you haven't voted yet, but would still like to, you have about thirty hours left!! Please make sure to read the quick Rules and Guidelines before voting; links to the fics and the ballots can be found HERE.

Thanks again to everyone who entered and voted in Round 1, and everyone who has voted in Round 2-- on behalf of all the writers, we really appreciate that you've taken the time to read our entries and weigh in! :)

THE FINAL RACE IS ON AT INTERCOMM!!!

--and some of it is very close. With just over a week left for voting, every vote counts!!!

If you voted in Round 1, you've already read most or all of these-- so, please let us know which are your favorites!

Were there simply too many entries in Round 1 for you to get through them all? Now's the time to participate, with only three to eight entries in each category-- the cream of the Round 1 crop!

There is a massive amount of talent and hard work up for the Round 2 awards, and it's not an easy decision; we hope you'll all help us determine which are the best stories of Intercomm 2010!!

fic links, ballots and voting rules can all be found at
http://community.livejournal.com/rh_intercomm/66604.html

voting is open through Sunday, March 28th at 11:59pm GMT

Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for The Robin Appreciation Society's Intercomm Awards! The winners were announced yesterday in this post, and now there are banners to accompany the accolades! :) They are simply gorgeous, made by the supremely, amazingly talented [livejournal.com profile] metallia2797 (and a HUGE thanks to her for taking these on!!), and here they are:

Winner's Banners )

But it's not just the winners who deserve recognition; I made a little something for some very awesome comm members, as well as a participation banner-- everyone who entered earned it!!

Thanks again to everyone who took part-- not only did our comm show Robs the love, but we also got other members of the fandom doing so, as well, and that's an awesome thing! :) I hope you'll all stop by [livejournal.com profile] rh_intercomm and vote for the top Intercomm winners, and you can see a complete list of the first-round winners here.

Round 1 of Intercomm voting is done and tallied!! All the entries were amazing, and I just want to reiterate that EVERY entry at RAS received votes, because that means that every fic was of a high enough quality that voters felt it should win. That's INCREDIBLE!!

Finally, the tallying is finished. And the winners are... )

Just wanted to remind everyone that there are only a couple more days to vote in the run-off finals for Intercomm community voting! We're still looking to see who's taking the prizes for the Drabble and Flash Fic categories, so if you haven't already taken a peek, here are our ballots. :) And please stop by to give final opinions for Treat Allan Right's Flash Fics and Short Fics, and The Djaq Appreciation Society's Drabbles, too! :)

And lots of thanks to everyone who's already voted-- it's greatly appreciated!!

Final voting for the Flash Fic and Drabble categories opens now, and closes on Monday, March 8th, at 11:59pm HAST (GMT-10).
-Anyone can vote, community members or non-members.
-You may not vote for your own fics.
-You may only vote for each fic once.
ETA: Sorry for not saying this earlier-- just entering the number of the fic you wish to vote for is fine here; no need to type out the whole title. :) (Unless you'd prefer to, that is! :))

A HUGE thanks to everyone who took the time to read all of the fantastic entries at RAS (as well as at our brother communities!) and vote for their favorites! The quality of fics in our community was so high, that every single entry received votes. That's beyond fantastic!!

While the initial ballots are closed, we're not quite done yet-- we still need to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for Drabbles and Flash Fics. I'll have new ballots up today, and they'll stay open for one week. All winners will be announced after the final voting for those categories is finished.

Then, first place winners from all the communities will be up for Round 2 voting, to see who wins overall for Intercomm!

Thanks again to everyone who entered and and voted!! :) :)

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kegel84 for pointing out that the ballots weren't recording any votes. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I've made new ballots that should work fine.

If you voted, I'm sorry to report that it wasn't recorded. I hope it's not too much to ask you to please re-cast your votes, in that case.

Sorry for the mix-up!

Well, RAS'ers, after a monthlong writing frenzy for which I can say nothing less than THANK YOU!! and you are all more incredibly awesome than mere words can express :), it's time for voting! Here's how it's going to go:

VOTING OPENS: Now
VOTING CLOSES: 11:59pm HAST (GMT-10) February 28th
WHO CAN VOTE: Anyone! Open to the public.
VOTING BALLOT LINKS: Drabbles ~ Flash Fics ~ Ficlets ~ Short Fics ~ Epic Short Fics

***PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE VOTING!! IMPORTANT INFO BELOW!!***

Basic guidelines

-Enter the NUMBER of the fic you wish to vote for in the ballot field.
-You may only vote for each fic once; you cannot nominate the same fic for more than one placement.
-You may not vote for your own fics.
-Please be honest; vote for fics you truly feel should win, not for the authors of the fics.

Run-off Voting: Drabbles and Flash Fics

Due to the large number of drabbles and flash fics, I've given each of those their own post. Also due to those high numbers of entries, the other Intercomm mods and I agreed that asking you to select only three would be a near-impossible task. Therefore, we're having run-off voting, wherein you can vote for ten drabbles, and seven flash fics. After primary voting closes, there will be one more week given for final voting in those categories, where the first, second and third place winners will be chosen.

Normal Voting: Ficlets, Short Fics and Epic Short Fics

As there are fewer entries for ficlets, short fics, and epic short fics, I've combined them into one post. You have to fill out each ballot and click each "submit" button separately!! If you fill in all the ballots in the post and only click one submit button, only that ballot will be submitted. Your other votes will be lost. On the plus side, you don't need to vote for all three categories in one go; you are able to submit your votes for, say, ficlets, and then come back on another day to vote for short fics.

How many winners will there be?

It all depends on how many fics were entered. For categories with four or less entries, there will only be a first place winner, and you can therefore only vote for one entry. For categories with five to nine entries, there will be a first and second place awarded, and you can vote for two entries. For categories with ten or more entries, there will be first, second and third places awarded, and you will be able to vote for three-- except in the cases of run-off voting, which has been explained above.

Banners

If you are of an artistic nature and would like to contribute banners for the winners, please let me know! (This invitation is only open to comm members... however, if you're interested and not yet a member, it's easy to join! ;)) I'll be glad to make them up, myself, but know that not everyone in the community is a writer, and thought that someone who's better with a graphics program than a word processing program could participate in Intercomm that way. Please PM me or reply to this post if you're interested. :)

Any questions? Need clarification? Comment below.

Also, please be sure to check out the ballots for Treat Much Right, Treat Allan Right, the Isabella Gisborne Appreciation Community, Treat Little John Right, and the Djaq Appreciation Society - links to all ballots will be found at the main Intercomm community in this post.

Thanks again to everyone who participated!! We mods were absolutely blown away by the response, and it's all because of your hard work and enthusiasm!! :)

It just turned midnight here in Ye Olde Englande, so I'm here to cheerlead on all the folks on the other side of the atlantic, as I can't really post anymore fic!

TAR have gone wild, and are about 25000 words (Update- 20000, almost seems reachable- :/) now ahead of us right now, but they're only six fics ahead, thanks to the epic drabble spree of [livejournal.com profile] dollysgirl04  yesterday!! If you have time, knock up a couple of drabbles/flash fics, we need to beat them at something! If I realised that they were so far ahead on the word count I would've given up on my epic short fic (which I finished & posted on the dot at midnight - lucky timekeeping FTW!), and turned my attention to drabbles, but unfortunately I'm not that smart. It's not too late for you lot though! Go Go Go!

I haven't got around to reading all the fics yet, but the ones I have, have been pretty awesome, and we've pretty much thrashed everyone else, so well done team!

(And thanks [livejournal.com profile] railise for organising intercomm, it's really brought out the competitive side in me, and I love having my f-list flooded with all this Robs-love!)

And I know the icon isn't Robs-related, but I was hoping it may shock a couple of people into action, or provide some sort of bizarre inspiration ;)
