After Robin tells Marian that he's about to leave for the war, he sees not her for days. There are innumerable things to take care of before the departure and no time to visit Knighton. She stays away from Locksley.
He questions his motives to follow the King's call, but it seems like the right thing to do. Despite the guidance Thornton has given him over the years, he must make his own decisions. He misses his parents.
On the last night Much rushes Robin to the pigsty, claiming something's wrong with the sow. He inspects the animal but finds no cause for worry. Irritated, he turns around. Much is gone.
Marian looks at him, smiling.
