Oh yes and it's another Coldplay inspired fic. Although this one is extremely loosely based. And even if you don't like Robin/Marian it has little Scarletts, therefore worth a read? Maybe? Just the first two paragraphs?

“Robin, Robin, Robin, Robin, Robin, Robin!” Three young boys ran across Locksley to where Robin was dismounting his horse. The first two; Benedict Gibbons and Gregory Thatcher, were sons of two of his peasants. The third was slightly younger and Robin did not recognise him until a teenager, only a few years younger than Robin himself, ran towards them shouting “Luke! Luke! Don’t hassle master Robin!”

The teenager was Will Scarlett, Luke’s older brother. It always surprised him how much Luke seemed to change every time he saw him.

“It’s okay, Will.” Robin reassured him. “It’s always nice to see the smiling faces of my people.” He smiled at Luke.

“Robin!” The warm voice of Thornton came from the direction of the manor. Robin ran over and hugged Thornton. “You’re in awfully good spirits today Master.”

“Of course I am! I am home after far too long!”

“You were only away for a week!”

“Thornton, every second away from what I love is a second too many!” Robin exclaimed cheerily.

“It’s not so much a case of what you love, as who you love, is it master?”

Robin’s smile widened. “Is she here?”

“Just inside. Should I start to prepare...” He stopped mid sentence, Robin had already bounded through the door into the manor.

Marian was stood facing the fireplace, but she turned when she heard his footsteps, and a smile lit up her face. “I was beginning to think that you would never come back!”

“Not yet, not while you’re still young and beautiful!” He teased, sweeping her into an embrace.

She ignored him. “When do you next have to go?”

“I don’t know, when duty calls. I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too.” They looked into each other’s eyes for a few seconds, but the moment was lost when Thornton’s wife; Amy walked through the room.

“Robin!” Amy said, trying to hide whatever it was the she was carrying.

“I was not expecting you home yet?”

Robin looked bemused. “When were people expecting me home?! And what is that?”

Marian put a hand to his cheek and turned her head towards his. “It’s nothing. Just a dress I asked Amy to mend for me.”

“But it’s white. You never wear white!”

She looked at him, eyebrows raised, until he finally caught on. “Why do you have to be traditional and wear white?”

“It was my mother’s dress! And the white represents purity, you know that.”

“Yes, but I was thinking about that while I was away, see; how about we do the deed now, then you don’t have to wear a white dress!” He grinned. Marian looked unimpressed. “OW!” He yelped a moment later, rubbing the back of his head.

He turned to see Amy scowling at him, a candlestick in one hand and the dress in the other. “You will banish all such thoughts from your head Robin of Locksley!” Behind him Marian could not hide her slightly smug grin.
